Creating, Printing and Authentication

The process of creating LiDAR Maps combines data acquisition and processing using high powered computing and highly skilled operators both in the air and on the ground. By combining creative ambition with technical expertise, a series of never before seen images emerge that are often surprising in their beauty while still retaining the essence and recognisability of a map.

Signed and numbered

Once the data is processed and the image rendered it can be printed as a useful and beautiful image.

The LiDARt Process

We have developed a special printing technique - the LiDARt Process - that reproduces as closely as possible the on-screen digital image onto the final print.

A3 size prints are made using a top end commercial laser printer that captures the colour and vibrancy of the digital LiDAR Map

LidarMaps.org creates limited edition prints that are signed by map makers. Each print will also be numbered in its edition.
